Hi there, my name is Jenny and I'm a fine art student living in Scotland.

The idea of keeping a blog has always been an attractive one; I've very frequently started them, dutifully documenting my work for about ten posts, advertising it's existence on social networking sites, filling in my about me section with a witty nonchalance that only ever comes from revising every second word you say for a few hours at a time. But the reality of keeping a blog has always been a bit different. There's a host of very good, very thought out excuses. But it does kind of just come down to me being a little bit lazy.

However, times are changing. Starting my second year, I don't really want to coast. I want to go a bit further and I want to actually do something more than just pass. I'm organising an exhibition in the Shetland isles this coming December; I'm interested in travelling to do a semester abroad in third year, I want to start meeting people and doing things that might actually get me somewhere. I so desperately just want to improve my craft, and document myself doing it. Blogspot sounds like a pretty good place to start, right?

My beautiful new camera is going to be with me in a few days, so I just thought I would give the internet a bit of a heads up that I'm coming. Expect a big fat post featuring a few highlights from last years work (there aren't as many as I'd like there to be) and maybe a few thoughts on what I'm going to turn to next.

I'm planning to post every Monday, if not more than that. Let's see if I stick to it this time...
